Is Your Hoodia Cut With Caffeine

Have you ever wondered why so much of the Hoodia that is also blended with Green Tea? Although Green Tea is a healthy free radical fighting antioxidant in itself, it is mainly added to Hoodia formulations to help speed weight loss. Usually the individuals marketing these Hoodia and Green Tea Formulas describe the formula as being synergistic. The truth is that Green Tea is added to these supplements for its diuretic effects and so that more money can be charged for less Hoodia if it is “cut” with Green Tea. The caffiene in the Green Tea also causes a generous initial loss of weight due to water shedding from the tissues. This rapid initial weight loss can lead you to believe that you are experiencing “proof that the Hoodia is working.”

However this does not mean that you should avoid hoodia products that have Green Tea in them. Caffeine is added to many products as it facilitates the delivery of many substances to the brain. A good example is Tylenol 3 where caffeine is used to speed the delivery of Tylenol and codeine to the bloodstream to get you out of pain faster. The same can be said of the caffeine that it is used in Hoodia Gordonni and Green Tea weight loss formulas.

The two ingredients you should look for are the green tea with the green tea in a 20:1 ratio to the hoodia. That is what researchers at Phytopharm and other companies have found to be the most effective green tea to hoodia formula for weight loss. Unfortunately green tea is added to weight loss formulas to disguise low quality hoodia or to enable the manufacturer to put less hoodia in the product and lower the overall cost of it. Usually the cheaper the hoodia is, the more it is cut with Green Tea and other ingredients.

Caffeine is not a villain, It is found in more than sixty leaves, seeds and plants including tea leaves, the kola nut, cacao seed and of course the coffee bean. The effects of caffeine on the body include heart and central nervous system stimulation and muscle relaxation. Caffeine also acts as a diuretic (increasing urine production) and increases the secretion of gastric acid in the stomach.

Unfortunately when you go shopping for hoodia, you will notice that it is often combined with other ingredients besides Green Tea or caffeine, even banned herbs such as ephedra (also known as Ma Huang). Absolutely avoid these formulas as you could give yourself cardiac arrest or experience rapid heart beat and keep awake at night.

The fact that buying real hoodia is expensive and you do get what you pay for. It takes six years to grow hoodia from seed to the mature plants and there are very few commercial hoodia farms in the world. This six-year gap between supplier and buyer is what makes pure Hoodia so expensive. The point is that if you are going to spend a lot of money on high quality hoodia then make sure you are getting it in the recommended 20:1 ratio mix with Green Tea or you are wasting your money.

Valentines 2006Where Will The Sweethearts Spend Their Billions

You had better sit down! You won’t believe these figures.

Consumers spent a WHOPPING 13.2 BILLION dollars in 2005 for Valentines and they intend to buy more this year! You heard me right. People are buying, and buying big, to support the heart shaped marketing vacuum for varied demonstrations of undying love. (In 2005, the US consumer invested $13.2 billion dollars in celebration of love and romance.)

You know the laws of physics - nature abhors a vacuum and we are about to fill it with chocolates, flowers, jewelry and greeting cards.

Men spend almost twice the amount women spend with the average male spending $135.67. Jewelers are going to see more hungry buyers: 22% of men preferring something shiny to something smelly (flowers). If you are a florist, hold your horses, you are still in good shape. Approximately 52% still want flowers of all kinds to cast a magical love spell on someone special.

Why is there all this gallantry over Valentines? What brought us here? Well, historians disagree on this one. Some say it was for St. Valentine who was martyred because he would not give up his faith. Others say, St. Valentine gave a note to the jailor’s daughter and signed it, “your friend St. Valentines”. Known as the Patron Saint of Lovers, St. Valentines left us with a legacy of writing poems and notes to those we love.

Those notes are making some retailers truck loads of cash. Let’s take a peek at who is buying what for Valentines in 2006:

According to the National Retail Federation 2006 Valentine’s Day Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey, consumers will spend on average $101 on gifts this year.

**47% of consumers will go for candy

**33% of consumers will buy flowers

**Make reservations! A hungry crowd of 42% intend to spend the night on the town

**Diamonds, pearls and all things shiny - 14.6%

**And for those slightly less romantic types - cash in the form of gift cards or certificates should do about 11%

Sex is not the only criteria for Valentine’s gift giving. Although the average person will spend the majority of their budget on their significant other or spouse, they intend to share almost $21 on other family members, over $5 on friends, $3.52 on children’s friends and teachers. Even babysitters get a physic hug with an additional $4.38 to be spent sharing the love.

Don’t think for a minute that Valentine’s is about the young. Middle-aged baby boomers are in for a penny and in for pound: they plan to spend $128.78 each. (Do we send Valentines gifts to ex- husbands, wives, and lovers? Help!)

Young people seem to favor more creative and inexpensive ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Perhaps poems are coming back in style.

TIPS FOR RETAILERS AND SERVICE PROVIDERS AND PROFESSIONALS:

Emotional moments and mementos SELL.

RED is a popular color this month and people will tolerate quite a bit of it.

GIVE IDEAS to your customers - what could they do for their loved ones?

NOTICE the trends - for goodness sake, people buy for the lawn boy!

If you sell insurance - think of their loved ones, think of packaging the product.

Make sure you have the right price attached - again, note the trends.

Last minute is okay - you still have time to think and act.

In closing, I offer a few mementos of love for those of you who like me, would appreciate a simple phone call with 3 lovely words: “I love you,” but will settle for diamonds.

**Men purchased an estimated 180 Million roses last year (Society of American Florists)

**As for cards, the line us goes as follows: Christmas, Father’s Day, and you guessed it Valentine’s Day

**Chocolates will fill more than 36 million heart-shaped boxes of chocolate. (National Confectioner’s Association)

Cure That Golf Slice In One Day!

Do you know what the most common problem area for the average golfer is? You probably guessed it, the dreaded slice. Most all of us have been there at one time or another. You know what I mean, you hit your tee shot and it goes further to the right than it travels down the fairway. I’ve even seen some golfers who will aim way over to the left rough, tee off, and watch the ball go all the way over to the right rough! It’s time to say enough is enough. Let’s look at correcting the problem forever.

Set Up In A Good Stance

Your stance will greatly determine where your golf ball goes. That may sound simplistic, but it’s true. Check to make sure your shoulders are in line with your intended target. You can easily practice your alignment out on the driving range. Line up to your intended target, then stop and grab an iron, lay it down where your feet were lined up and take a good look at it. Is is straight to your target? If not, make the adjustments and you’re in business.

Keep your right foot straight away from you, and point the left one a little more towards your target. Keep your body relaxed and don’t become tense. Just by lining up properly you may find yourself curing your golf slice.

The Right Golf Grip

This is another big area that can easily lead to a golf slice. Worst of all, most golfers don’t realize it. To start with, understand that you do not want to grip the golf club like a vise. If you do you’ll begin to add many other problems to your golf game, like hooking the ball, hitting it fat, or even missing it altogether! If you are having a golf slice problem it could be due to a weak grip.

Next, the right grip will be to place your left hand along side the shaft with your thumb facing straight down, not to the left or right. Then, place the palm of your right hand over your left thumb, and be sure your right thumb is also facing straight down.

Pay particular attention to your golf grip the next time you’re on the driving range. Make some adjustments and you should be able to fix your golf slice in very little time.

The Golf Swing

Many times a golf slice problem is created by bad swing mechanics. Without going into every detail, a good golf swing will begin with your hands, then your arms, and finally, your shoulders.

The downswing starts with turning your hips, and keeping your head behind the ball. Always keep your eyes focused on the ball, even after follow through. This will eliminate a chili dip.

Overcoming a golf slice doesn’t have to be complicated. Just by making some minor adjustments can pay big dividends. You don’t have to live with that awful banana ball any longer! Go out on the practice range and get started today.
